Public Relations

Public Relations is the deliberate, planned and sustained effort to establish and maintain mutual understanding between an organization and its public. “Public” are all those people with whom an organization is directly or indirectly in contact with, and “Relations” is two-way communication.

Judging by the above it is possible to envision the need for trained people in India for various organizations- public and private sector, corporate sector, non-governmental organizations, self-help groups and international organizations. The current globalization and the emergent scenario in India is to be considered for starting a Postgraduate program in Public Relations:

This program in Public Relations will be an articulated program in Public Communication designed for enthusiastic current and prospective public relations practitioners wishing to enhance their skills and professional standing.

This new programme is in keeping with the high academic standards and the valued traditions that Stella Maris stands for.
