| SCHOLAR-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAMME The Scholar-In-Residence Programme is an annual academic exercise initiated by the department.Renowned academicians and experts both from India and abroad are invited for a series of lectures on specific themes drawn from the curriculum. The Scholar-In-Residence Programme is designed to:Scholars who have visited the department since 2004: Mr.Arvind Kumar Dr.Kripa Sridharan Mr.Arabinda Acharya Dr.K.P.Vijayalakshmi Dr.Jessica Wallack ![]() Arvind Kumar, Associate Fellow, International Strategic Studies Programme National institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore. Mr.Arvind Kumar was the Scholar in Residence at the Department of International Studies,from24 -26 November,2004. Mr.Arvind Kumar conducted an extensive inhouse lecture series on “International Relations theory & Contemporary Warfare”. The Lecture series was divided under three following headings![]() Dr.Kripa Sridharan, Senior Lecturer, Department of Political Science, National University Singapore, Singapore Dr.Kripa Sridharan was the first International Scholar in Residence at the department of International Studies from 13-17, December 2004. Dr.Kripa conducted inhouse lecture series on “ The International Political System”. The lecture series was divided under the following headings![]() Mr.Arabinda Acharya, Manager, Strategic Projects, International Center for Political Violence & Terrorism Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Singapore. Research Coordinator,Center for Peace and Development Studies, India Mr.Arabinda Acharya was the International scholar in residence at the Department of International Studies from 21-24 Septemeber 2007. Mr.Acharya conducted inhouse lecture series on “Global Terrorism & International Security”. The lecture series was divided under the following headingThe Scholar in Residence Programme concluded with a Panel discussion on 22 September 2005.The theme was “Global Terrorism:Modes,Intentions & Capabilites”. The Panelists were Chennai. & Research Fellow, Maritime Security Programme Institute of Defense & Strategic Studies,Nanyang technological University, Singapore. Dr. K P Vijayalakshmi, Associate professor, Center for American Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru Universisty,New Delhi. Dr.Vijayalakshmi was the Scholar in Residence at the department of International Studies from 4-6,September 2006.Dr.Vijayalakshmi conducted inhouse lecture series on “Indo-US Relations”. The lecture series was divided under the following headings The Scholar in Residence Programme concluded with a Panel discussion on 6 September 2006.The theme was “Evolving Indo-US Relations”. The Panelists were Forthcoming Event ![]() Dr.Jessica Wallack, Assistant Professor of Political Economy, Graduate School of International Relations & Pacific Studies,University of California,San Diego.Currently Working at Institute for Financial Management & Research, Chennai.
