Objective

The course is intended to train graduates in the fields of clinical chemistry, clinical pathology and clinical microbiology laboratory techniques with adequate theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The successful completion of this professional training will enable students to take up jobs as Medical Technologists in any of the clinical laboratories.

As a pioneering Institution to start PGDMLT course, Stella Maris has been conducting  this course for the past seventeen years. Students of the earlier batches are employed in most of the leading hospitals of Chennai and many of them are employed in hospitals at USA, Canada and the Middle East as Medical Technologists. Some of our students are selected to continue the higher studies and research at Institutions such as BITS Pilani and abroad.

The course content is designed to suit the needs of the industry and also revised and updated periodically to keep pace with the developments in the field. Our students are also trained with Automated instruments so that they can very well face any challenge in their work place.

Duration

One year (Commencing in the fourth week of July)

Admission

Last date of application is 10 days after the publication of B.Sc. results of the University of Madras.
