A workshop is a gathering or training session which may be several days in length. It emphasizes problem-solving, hands-on training, and requires the involvement of the participants. Often symposium, a lecture or a meeting can become a workshop when it is accompanied by a practical demonstration.
In the PR Department a workshop has been used to translate theory learnt in the classroom to practical training in the workshop so that skills can be honed and acquired. Student have the space and the time to reflect and internalize concepts. Individual attention can be to the student by the trainer.
Workshops have been conducted in the various papers in communication in : • Photography • Visual communication-use of color, fonts and layout • Public Speaking with videographic feed-back • Information Communication Technology (I.C.T)
