Value Education

RELIGIOUS AND VALUE EDUCATION is vital. Stella Maris integrates it into the educational process so that every student has the opportunity to grow in both knowledge and faith, in belief and learning. The college affirms respect for diverse religious and philosophical convictions and the dignity of the human person.
Catholic Doctrine, Ethics and Scripture are an important part of the undergraduate program and students are expected to earn 4 credits in 3 semesters.
CATHOLIC DOCTRINE: All Catholic students are expected to take the courses offered by the department which include Family Life in the Catholic perspective, Introduction to the Bible and Christian Life and Gospel Values.
ETHICS: Students of all other faiths are exposed to the understanding of philosophy and values of major religions. The college strives to develop in the students a capacity for critical and ethical judgement and a commitment to appropriate action in the service of faith and justice.
